John designed and produced jackhammer carts with lifts for a major local construction company that was designed to minimize the risk of back injuries for construction workers. These carts were hydraulically operated to lift/lower the jackhammers to prevent injuries the workers were getting from physically lifting the hammers from the carts. The company reported an immediate improvement in their Workers’ Comp injuries related to jackhammer use.

A warehouse manager from the same company, different branch, got tired of many manhole lids laying around his yard in piles. He requested some form of organizing rack with no clear design stated. John designed and constructed manhole lid racks that could hold up to 20 lids per rack in an area that was approximately 4 ft x 15 ft. These racks effectively gave the company back about 1200 square feet of their yard space for other forms of storage, once the lids could be safely organized and contained. This was a significant space savings for the branch, giving them back additional space for their vehicles, equipment and supplies.
